The staff was very polite and helpful, when we couldn't find the controls for the air conditioner unit, someone came to our room within minutes, the people at the front desk were very helpful when we asked for advice on the neighborhood bars and restaurants, and the room was very clean and spacious.
Coffeemaker in the room didn't work properly but this is minor
The price. Also allowing me to check in late.
It was convent to where we wanted to go . We were also scoping at hotels for a future wedding for family to stay. I don't think I will be staying here. The toilet was very slow! It took five times for it to completely flush! The bathroom was also small. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Granted it was just cereal, bagals, danish, coffee and juice: however, the milk was sour, the toster over toasted and now way to figure the settings.
Staff was very friendly and I was able to check in early. The hotel is close to International Dr (walking distance) and it offers shuttles to the parks. There's also a ticket office, a suvenir shop, a computer with internet access and printer, and a couple of vending machines. The room is spacious and clean and the beds are confortable. My room had a big flat screen TV, hair dryer, clothes iron and iron board, coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave.
The hotel is a Travelodge that changed its name, so everything is a bit old. The only thing I did not like very much was the bathroom: it was really run down and the water in the shower didn't get very warm.
great info about universal orlando, the possibility to buy cheaper tickets and the free shuttle to the city walk
It was very good value for money in a good location for Universal and Wet and Wild within walking distance - with friendly staff. Room was clean. It was booked for a one night stay and was cheap and cheerful so dont expect the Ritz. free Wi/fi access with a good service. I had read some poor reviews on Trip Advisor so expected the worse but was plesantly surprised especially at the price. Basic breakfast included - juice, cereal, coffee and muffin - standard motel.
Nothing. We were booked for 2 nights. After seeing our room we went to reception and said we would only stay one night and will checked out next morning.
Where shall I start... I booked this hotel under Blue Palm Resort. On arrival in the shuttle there are no signs anywhere indicating the name of the place. Had to go in and check if this was the correct location.....Our room was damp. Mattress, pillows, sheets felt damp. Towels had holes in them. The roof had tarps over it to keep out the rain....Reception man didnt know anywhere in the area to eat altho we could see Dennys as he said this. No shuttle service to Theme parks as offered when I booked....He said the place had new owners 4 months ago and changed the name. They were not taking any more bookings but were honouring bookings already made as they were going to renovate the place....We felt obliged to stay one night but checked out next morning and went next door to La Quinta which was fabulous for the same price....This place should not be available for booking until it has been renovated.
It was better than we expected based on some other reviews. The room was clean with good facilities, pleasant decour and the bathroom looked like it had been cleaned before we checked in, unlike the previous hotel we stayed in (days inn at universal maingate) which was filthy. Staff on reception were friendly and competent. A breakfast is included in the price. Its pretty basic - cereal, bagel, pastry and coffee but it is better than no breakfast at all. The location is perfect for walking to Universal studios and international drive.
There is no name sign outside the hotel and is confusingly called about 4 different things on different items around the hotel. The Lord hotel, the lords inn, the blue palm hotel on all the room documents, travelodge on the room telephone, super 8 inn on the payment receipt. So using the address to find it is your best bet (5859 American Way).
Location is good when you want to walk to Universal Studios parks, but the hotel is old and breakfast very poor.
